Open Defecation
Open defecation not only causes health hazards but also deprives the nation of development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Clean India” mission aims at making the country free of the practices like open defecation by 2022.

Gender Disparities
Bridging the gender differences, and moving towards an egalitarian society will ultimately lead a nation to progress. Gender inequality is deterrent to the development of the country. The issue needs to be addressed personally as well as requires government intervention whenever deemed necessary.

The increasing levels of pollution, and the citizen’s apathetic attitude towards environment requires measures to be taken at both macro and micro levels. People should pledge for a greener approach, and be environmentally responsible to help lessen the excessive pressure on the environment.

One per cent growth rate means an addition of 1 crore people every year, but figuratively 2 crore people are being added every year. Family planning, recreational activities, late marriages, employment for women are some of the effective measures to help curb population growth.
With both individuals, and government keenly working towards eliminating these roadblocks, our country will obtain the global position it truly deserves. Being responsible citizens, we need to draw learnings from our past, move towards a prospering future.
