The North American division of Henkel announced that on the back of its successful scholarship programs, it would award another 35 meritorious students with scholarships. The chemical and consumer goods giant has helped exemplary students from different communities pursue their educational goals for the past 40 years.

The Henkel Corporation Scholarship Program and the newly formed Henkel Diversity Scholarship Program will host the next group of 35 deserving students. The scholarships are an extension of Henkel’s illustrious history of providing outstanding students with the means to pursue higher education. The scholarships are part of Henkel’s efforts to promote education and increase access to career opportunities for the youth.

Henkel has been involved in programs to support students since 1981. Through the Henkel Corporation Scholarship Program, it provided financial support to the children of its North American employees. These children are exceptional performers in academics who have displayed leadership qualities. Henkel wants to give the opportunity to such students who can go on and become role models and leaders for their respective communities and the world.

As part of the company’s commitment to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the Henkel Diversity Scholarship Program was drafted earlier this year. The scholarship focuses on students from the marginalized and underrepresented communities who have shown qualities of greatness in them. Offered to students in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, the scholarship provides financial assistance and support in their quest for a better future.

13 students have been selected for the Henkel Diversity Scholarship Program this year. The scholarship is renewable and will allow the selected candidates to attend four-year undergraduate courses starting this fall. The next batch of 35 students will be selected based on the same criteria – academic performance, leadership qualities in school and their communities, work experience, and character essays. Additionally, Henkel has also pledged to support another 22 students pursue their higher studies.

Steven Essick, President of Henkel North America, said that the organization understood the importance of education and praised the efforts that went towards supporting young students in their academic pursuits. “By investing in these future leaders, The company aims to inspire them to give back to the community and help create a workplace that is more diverse, equitable, and inclusive,” he concluded.
