It is a grim reality that air pollution is affecting us personally, in quite an adverse way. Studies have found that one out of every 8 deaths in India is owing to air pollution. The imports of crude oil also heavily burden our country’s economy.

This money otherwise could have been utilized by our government for public welfare like in health and education, for instance. According to Saharasri Subrata Roy, the current grave state of air pollution, largely due to the widespread use of fossil fuel driven vehicles which emit toxic fumes in the environment, is a silent but the biggest of threats to life on earth today.

Environment-friendly and sustainable modes of transportation are the need of the time amid the current air pollution situation caused by fossil fuel-run vehicles. As global energy sector is making a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy, the automobile sector is not much behind. With large business groups announcing their clean energy ventures, India is headed towards a green energy revolution.

Acknowledging the need of clean energy options in the country, Sahara India Pariwar founder Subrata Roy decided his new venture to be an EV manufacturing unit. The group made a grand comeback by joining the league of clean energy purveyors with its latest venture, Sahara EVOLS, in June this year. Sahara India Pariwar plans to offer a wide range of electric vehicles (EVs) along with advanced allied services.

As a part of the company’s operations, bikes, scooters, e-rickshaws, charging stations, EV batteries, and 3-wheeler cargo vehicles would be made available under the brand name ‘Sahara EVOLS’. Post its launch in June, electric vehicle venture Sahara EVOLS is expected to expand its operations by the end of the next fiscal year.
