The volunteers and members of National Ngo participated in a cleanliness drive to spread awareness about the importance & need of cleanliness in our surroundings. They promoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission by picking up brooms and cleaning the market areas in Tughlakabad Extension. Keeping in mind the plight of the areas and the wide spreading diseases, ensuring cleanliness practices has become the most concerning issue. It is important to spread awareness among people about the need of cleanliness in our surroundings.

The volunteers took up the challenge and picked up the brooms to sweep the streets and local market areas in Tughlakabad. They divided the areas among themselves and made sure that the waste was disposed properly. The volunteers kept a check on the drainage and sanitary systems and made people aware about the most effective measures for proper waste disposal. The cleanliness drive aimed at evoking a sense of responsibility among the people to keep their surroundings clean.

The organization strongly supports PM Modi’s campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with the aim of accomplishing the vision of a ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October 2019; the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. Such cleanliness drive was much needed in the Tughlakabad area and involved active participation from the residents. The volunteers of National NGO took into consideration the problems faced by the people which were not heeded by the Municipal corporation of that area and ensured measures to overcome them. The organization looks forward to other such cleanliness drives to contribute in the journey of cleaning India.

A resident of Tughlakabad stated that, “These efforts by volunteers and members of National Ngo evoked a sense of responsibility among the residents of Tughlakabad in joining hands to support the Clean India Movement.  It was much-needed in our area as the plight of our locality was not heeded by the people and the municipal corporation.  The drainage systems were ineffective and blocked along with accumulation of piles of waste in our locality.”
