The team at Uflex has always put the best efforts to ensure the betterment of society. One such attempt made by Mr. Ashok Chaturvedi, CMD at Uflex was to promote “Sports for Growth”. To achieve the purpose, the company made an alliance with a non-profit organization, Society for Transformation, Inclusion and Recognition through Sports (STAIRS). The aim is to provide all feasible resources like infrastructure, equipments to the underprivileged children across India, without any monetary interest. For shaping up skills and smarts, instructors with strong experience and professional background are hired to enable youngsters to leave their worldwide impact. In addition, girls are specially emphasized for active participation so as to provide same footing in regard with boys and consider sports as ‘Lucrative Career Opportunity’.
Children are engaged in various sports like volleyball, sepak takraw, cricket, kabaddi, athletics, kho-kho, wrestling, football and many more at STAIRS centres supported by Uflex. Company has organized events such as Uflex Khelo Dilli, Khelo Himachal, Khelo Haryana and Khelo Uttar Pradesh for facilitating an accessible platform for not so blessed.
In 2014, STAIRS undertook its largest initiative, ‘STAIRS SCHOOL FOOTBALL LEAGUE (SSFL)’ that is arranged for the age group between 14 to 17 years of age and is exhibited on same pattern as FIFA. With support of Uflex, SSFL STAIRS has transpired as country’s best dais for acknowledging aspiring football players. The greatest achievement was bagged when SSFL was recognized as tournament for spotting talent for Under-17 FIFA World Cup that will be hosted by India in 2017.
The dedication of Mr. Ashok Chaturvedi, is worth an appreciation and this is his sincerity that our country might witness football as another promising sport.
