Aiming to offer a better lifestyle to children living in tough conditions in Noida, HCL Technologies CSR arm HCL Foundation (HCLF) has flagged off the Nanhe Parinde initiative program in partnership with the Police Department.

The initiative will aim at  protecting the vulnerable children and youth from the world of crime and support them in discovering their passion for a better life. A curriculum is designed for catering to both the academic as well as physical development of children through a diverse range of services.

HCL Foundation has decided to launch five mobile vans in the upcoming three years to reach around 400 to 500 CIDC (children in difficult circumstances) in GB Nagar and make them a part of the formal education system. Presently, HCL is targeting children living on the streets along with the working children to provide a safe space where they can receive alternative education, arts and crafts skills, training in self-defense, and co-curricular activities.

Modern features will be included in these mobile education vans like educational material, LCD screen, sound systems, CCTV cameras and GPS for safety and security, first aid box, sanitization facilities and more. Each van will reach out to 50 to 60 children every day with support from the local police stations at pre-determined spots.

On the occasion of U.P. Diwas, Alok Sing, Commissioner of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar flagged off the initiative along with his wife Akanksha Singh in the presence of Nidhi Pundhir, Director, HCL Foundation IT. Numerous dignitaries were also present during the event including Dr Mahesh Sharma, Member of Parliament from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Pankaj Singh, Member of Legislative Assembly, Noida and more.

Combined efforts of HCLF and the Police Department complement each other towards providing safe spaces and education for children and keeping a check on juvenile crime.
