GMR Group-backed 17 students crack SSC exam

The GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) helped 8 of the students get selected for CISF, while 5 of them were selected for CRPF and 4 for BSF.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of GMR Group has assisted 17 students of Rajam, Srikakulam District, Andra Pradesh in their bid to crack the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam. The GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) helped eight of the students get selected for Central Industry Security Force (CISF), while five of them were selected for Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and four for Border Security Force (BSF).

Three girls were among the 17 students from the Pratibha Library and counselling center. With a focus on underprivileged sections of the society, the counselling center has been mentoring the unemployed youth to help them secure government jobs since 2005. Pratibha center has helped the students in submitting online application for the exam, besides offering coaching in arithmetic and reasoning, and general studies.

The center conducted many learning sessions with successful candidates from earlier batches to guide the aspirants. It also made the college ground of Sri GCSR college accessible for physical efficiency test to help the candidates who cleared the preliminary round. Pratibha library has helped the youth around Rajam secure more than 500 government jobs over the last 15 years.

Talking about the development, director of community services wing, GMRVF, Avanish Kumar said, “We are proud of our students who have come through successfully with flying colors and have made it through a rigorous selection process. GMRVF has helped the students crack it through a strategic preparation plan, coaching by subject matter experts and mock tests.”

“We will continue to nurture the youth to enable them to achieve their goals for the country’s brighter tomorrow,” he added.
