Tata Motors has collaborated with Avanti Fellow NGO to conduct special coaching classes for unprivileged students to prepare for advanced competitive exams like NEET, IIT JEE Mains and IIT JEE. This year, 43 students have benefited from this programme and have cracked the IIT JEE Mains whereas 27 students have cleared IIT JEE Advanced.
Till now, more than 616 students enrolled in around 62 JNV schools of Pondicherry, Kolhapur, Mangalore and Palghar have reaped the benefits from this initiative since 2013-14.
Classes are conducted at JNV centres across the country for students of class 11th and 12th, and the programme identifies, nurtures and enables young minds who are fascinated towards science and technology and aspire to build their career in the same domain.
Over the years, this programme has featured the students in the top 500 on the IIT Joint Entrance examination list and they bagged full-time scholarships at renowned institutions.
Elaborating about the success of Education programmes by Tata Motors, CSR Head at Tata Motors, Vinod Kulkarni said that the company strongly believes that quality education is an important pillar of nation-building and they are striving to ensure a productive learning environment for underprivileged students in the country.
“Through our programmes, we aim to accelerate the career aspirations of talented young individuals with limited resources, who will further contribute to moving the nation forward. It is a matter of immense pride for Tata Motors to have assisted these future engineers in their educational journey. Tata Motors will continue to design and invest in programmes for better learning of the underprivileged by introducing advanced technology in academics to cater to the evolving times.” he added
Additionally, the company also hosts numerous other initiatives across India to encourage education of unprivileged students who have the potential to prosper by offering necessary resources and institutional aid.
Such initiatives have successfully resulted in an increase in the pass percentage of students enrolled in government schools.
