TATA AIG Bags Best CSR Award at the 20th Asia Insurance Industry Award 2016

There are so many corporate houses in the world today that generate million, billions of dollars of revenue every year. Even though some of these giants are under no obligation, they do fulfill their social responsibilities for the community. One such company, which takes its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) very seriously, is TATA AIG. For its efforts, the company has been awarded Best CSR Award at the 20th Asia Insurance Award, 2016.

Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited’s commitment to create a sustainable ecosystem for everyone was praised at the ceremony. The company collaborated with various NGOs in different fields including health, education, sanitation, disaster relief and volunteering.

Mr. Sibesh Sen, Head CSR, TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited, spoke on the occasion, “It is a great feeling for us to be recognized by such a prestigious organization.  It inspires us to continue our efforts in the CSR and Sustainability space with an even greater motivation.”

For motivational purposes, TATA AIG showcased its remarkable work for the society. The company worked along the communities and provided solutions at grassroots’ levels. It coordinated closely with Tata Trust and some NGOs in order to adopt the village of Kuran in Rajasthan. The cluster of teams worked towards nutrition improvement, immunization, education, sanitization, water conservation, cultivation and irrigation. The whole effort led to creation of self-help groups and an overall improvement people’s financial situations.

TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited, which is a joint venture between India’s Tata Group and USA’s American International Group (AIG), has truly set an example by winning the Best CSR Award. Corporations and people co-exist in the society. And it’s safe to say that it’s a duty of big companies to work towards improvement of the society they exist in.  Hopefully, more business giants in the country and abroad will acknowledge their social responsibilities.
