Big industrialists are making good healthcare accessible for India’s unprivileged

Millions of underprivileged people in India have no access to decent healthcare facilities. To change this, industrialists like SKS Ispat MD Anil Gupta and Jindal Steel & Power Limited(JSPL)Chairman Naveen Jindal are providing good healthcare programmes for India’s poor. The philanthropic initiatives by these business honchos ensure that healthcare services are easily accessible and affordable for the common man.

For instance,SKS Ispat, which is among India’s leading steel manufacturing companies, is aware of the dearth of reliable medical support in India, especially to the weaker sections of the society. “Lack of good healthcare facilities directly correlates to economic inequality in our country”, says Anil Gupta, the managing director of SKS Ispat. The organization has come up with several programs to help the underprivileged from remote areas.

SKS Ispat regularly organizes hygiene and sanitation camps to promote the idea of keeping the surroundings clean for a healthy living.Special women health checkups aid females in dealing with a number of critical issues, which they otherwise avoid talking about. In addition, the company helps the physically-challenged to literally stand on their feet by providing prosthetic limbs, without even charging a penny. Also, the provision of 24×7 ambulances helps thousands of villagers to make it to the hospital in case of emergencies. Moreover, in sync with PM Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharat India initiative, SKS Ispat is actively involved in constructing functional toilets across the nation to curb the growing menace of open defecation.

On the other hand, tycoons like Naveen Jindal have been devotedly working to introduce holistic healthcare in India. The development and management of the 100-bed multi-specialty O. P. Jindal Hospital & Research Centre at Raigarh (Chhattisgarh) is a step in the same direction. The hospital aims at providing reliable, affordable medical facilities to local communities.  Apart from this, the group organizes integrated medical camps across the villages of Patratu (Jharkhand), and Angul (Odisha).A panel of specialized doctors from all over the country is chosen to service the underprivileged at these health camps.

Under the aegis of Chairman Naveen Jindal, JSPL also extends a hand to those who are troubled by ophthalmic defects. The group, thus, helps patients get cataract and lens implantation operations done free of cost.

Also, the company organizes several health awareness camps to address the issue of population growth. These family welfare programmes teach couples the importance of family planning. Moreover, concerns like women’s health and infant mortality are also addressed by skilled doctors.

It is indeed true that these biggies are playing a significant role in helping the marginalized communities and improving the quality of life of millions with their prompt involvement in the Indian healthcare sector.
