SKODA AUTO Volkswagen collaborates with Save Life Foundation to initiate ‘Jeevan Rakshak Program’

A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between SKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) and Save Life Foundation for the ‘Jeevan Rakshak Program’. Under this initiative, the Save Life Foundation will train citizen volunteers, Police Personnel and SAVWIPL employees in the techniques of Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS).

The program will ensure a quick and appropriate response at the time of emergency situations to reduce the mortality and morbidity rate during a road accident. Covering the elements of Good Samaritans Law, the significance of golden hour, emergency action steps Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), immobilization, control bleeding, basic first aid management, etc., a comprehensive training will be provided to all the participants.

“In 2019, we partnered with Save Life Foundation with an aim to minimize fatalities that occur on the busy and vital 111-km Mumbai Pune stretch,” said Mr Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director, SAVWIPL while talking about the company’s previous partnership with Save Life Foundation.

“With Jeevan Rakshak Program, we are taking a step forward in strengthening our national commitment to reduce road crash deaths by 50 per cent within the next 2 years. I would encourage citizens to volunteer for the program and make a contribution to a greater cause we are working towards,” he added while talking about the recent development.

In a bid to create a model for road safety across Indian highways, the SAVWIPL and Save Life Foundation had partnered in 2019 as well. Both the organizations have concentrated on evidence-based road engineering interventions, comprehensive research, improved post-crash emergency care, etc., to significantly reduce the number of road crash deaths.

The recent collaboration between the two organizations is again aimed at ensuring the safety of people during critical circumstances to save precious lives.
