Safety is that basic need of human beings which is the foundation (second on pedestal of HON) of rest of the needs, as per Hierarchy of needs by Abraham Maslow. Every individual has the right to secure himself or herself from those circumstances which are unavoidable to some extent. Safety strategies and physical techniques which come under the category of self defense ensure that the individual avoids and escapes from violent assault.
On the auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day, a self defense session was organized for female employees of Gitanjali Gems by the organization only. A team of MMA was sent off to conduct the session. MMA has developed a module of training which excludes the use of equipments & instruments and provides training in such a manner that mind and body reacts according to the situation.
Each female employee attended the session and appreciated the same. Gitanjali Gems feels the need to take such initiatives every now and then to ensure women’s safety in today’s scenario.
