Nippon India donates Rs 30.5 lakh for Kerala flood victims

Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited, which is Asia’s leading paint manufacturer, made a donation of Rs 30,50,000 towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) for Kerala. The state has received torrential rains and floods, which have left it tattered.

The senior officials, S Mahesh Anand (President), Raghunandan Menon (Zonal Manager- Kerala and Gujarat), and Sarith V. Dev (Regional Sales Manager- Kerala) met the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. They offered the money as a part of the company’s contribution to the disaster stricken state.

The donated money is a joint effort by NIPSEA Group, Singapore and the employees of Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited.

Speaking about the donation that Nippon made towards the relief fund, S Mahesh Anand, president – Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division) commented, ““Kerala has remained one state we have had close ties with, and we are deeply saddened by the current plight of the state. Nippon Paint is overwhelmed by the support of its employees in raising funds for the relief causes and we are committed to assisting in the large challenge of rebuilding the state and addressing the health, safety and housing needs of its residents”.

The effort by Nippon is aimed at making sure that the affected people in different areas receive proper healthcare, housing and other essential help. Along with this, Nippon Paint is also devoted to helping the 1000 – 1500 painters who have been affected by the floods.

Such CSR activities by companies bring forward the unity that the country showcases in times of need. The funds collected are helping the people eat daily meals along with having the basic necessities. The government is making sure that all these funds rea put to the right use and help the affected rebuild their lives.
