Nestle India lends a helping hand to youth by rolling out Nesternship 2.0

In a bid to enhance the competency and employability of the youth, Nestle India has rolled out an internship program to upskill 1000 youth across the country. This is not for the first time that the company has initiated such a program. In fact, Nestle India had successfully launched Nesternship in 2020, in which 1000 youth across 30 cities and towns in India were interned by the company.

Nestle India recognized the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the career prospects of the youth and decided to come up with Nesternship to offer experiential learning for empowering the youth. All set to begin from the second week of March 2021, the registration for Nesternship will be communicated through the social media channels of the company, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

The registration for Nesternship will remain open for 2 days and the students can send their applications through the social media handles of Nestle India. The program itself will begin from 1st April 2021 and each candidate will be assigned a mentor, who will guide the intern during the course. The duration for the process of skilling 1000 youth will extend between April and December.

“Nesternship program was initiated in the early months of the pandemic to provide much needed internship opportunities for young professionals, when the environment was gloomy, and many found their job offers rescinded and internships withdrawn,” said Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India while talking about the development.

“We want to enable more youth, this year, by giving them an opportunity to develop their skills in a professional environment, providing them a depth of experience, other than enhancing their knowledge and confidence to face the workplace in future,” he added.

The process of shortlisting the candidates will be carried out on the basis of online assessment. Other factors, such as high school marks, graduation score, etc., will also be taken into consideration to select the final batch of interns.
