Mitsubishi Electric India recently launched its Environmental Sustainability Vision 2050. Under the programme, the company has decided to commence a CSR activity by organizing tree plantation drive in Beltarodi Road, Nagpur. The company in a statement said it has been delivering pioneering technology and innovation to contribute positively to society.
Under its Environmental Sustainability Vision 2050, the company provides an environmental Declaration under which it states to protect land, water and air with technology and efforts of Mitsubishi Electric to with the objective of a better future for all.
Nagpur is a growing city and is on the top in the Central government’s Smart City Mission preference as “Nagpur Smart”. It is also considered as one of the greenest and clean cities in India. The plantation drive will help Nagpur in maintaining its green cover.
Mitsubishi Electric’s employees and ten volunteers of NGO planted 200 trees including copper Pod tree, Karanj tree, Kadam tree, Neem, Cassia tower and Raintree in Besa-Beltarodi, Nagpur.
These actions support Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations on Clean Water & Sanitation, Quality Education, Climate Action and Good Health & Well Being.
These actions also related to several programmes and missions of the Government of India including Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Skill India, National Mission for a Green India and National Rural Health Mission.
The plantation drive is an extension of previous CSR activities which were done in other cities. The company is planning to extend its CSR strategy in FY 2019-20. The company is also targeting to achieve Climate Action, Clean Water & Sanitation and Good health & Well-Being missions of the UNSDG.
