KSUM invites CSR funds to support government’s vision

Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM)has recently invited corporate houses for planning CSR projects with them. This move by the central agency of the Government of Kerala for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities is aimed at supporting the government’s vision on promoting innovative ideas through budding firms.

The agency has focus areas for the year 2021. Entrepreneurship development, start-up incubators, education and skill development, women and child safety, Covid-19 solutions, to name a few.

The nodal agency stated, “KSUM’s impeccable record, growth and global position will provide your company with unmatched potential for your CSR activities, with assured impact, value and visibility”.

Under the Companies Act, 2013, the provisions that have been introduced by the government will let the corporates contribute their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to the approved TBIs and registered not-for-profit associations in particular domains.

Approved by the Union government’s Department of Science and Technology’s National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, KSUM is an incubator registered as a non-profit entity under the Society Act 1956. It works towards promoting entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in Kerala. These activities look after planning, establishment and management of technology business incubators and accelerators to promote technology-based ventures by creating the infrastructure and environment.

Earlier, Kerala Startup Mission played a major role in the development of a vibrant startup ecosystem. Kerala’s startups are extending their limits and focusing on future technologies and innovating solutions for different challenges. The state has also seen numerous entrepreneurs shining with their startup ideas at the international forums.
