The campaign includes interactive workshops, training sessions, and demonstrations on defensive driving and basic vehicle maintenance. It also targets school children and college students to instill road safety habits from a young age.

HMSI’s National Road Safety Awareness program made learning fun yet scientific through a variety of activities, including:

  • Scientifically devised learning module: Honda’s skilled instructors provided participants with a foundation in road safety through theory sessions on road signs and markings, driver’s duties on the road, riding gear and posture, and safe riding etiquette.
  • Practical learning: Participants had the opportunity to experience over 100 possible dangers on the road through a special training activity on Honda’s virtual riding simulator.
  • Interactive session: Participants were given danger prediction training, known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT), which helps to enhance rider/driver’s sensitivity to danger and ensures safe driving behavior on roads.
  • Existing drivers honing riding skills: Students and school staff members who were already existing riders had the opportunity to test and hone their riding skills through slow riding activities and to ride on narrow planks.
  • Learning in a fun way: To ensure that the young students could learn more about road safety, Honda also conducted fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes daily.
