Henkel announces new scholarship and internship programs in partnership with Scholarship America and others

Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel AG & Co. has announced that it would be rolling out new scholarship and internship programs in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. The initiative is a part of Henkel’s commitment to increasing DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion). Furthermore, with this, the company also aims to build leadership, education and career opportunities that would foster growth across underrepresented communities.

Having pooled around $600,000, the scholarship program will be granted next year and made available online through Scholarship America. The latter is a Minnesota-based philanthropic organisation and the nation’s largest manager and designer of scholarship programs and other programs for providing tuition assistance and education support for individuals and corporations alike.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Henkel on its new scholarship program that provides financial assistance to students from diverse populations in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico,” said Robert C. Ballard, President and CEO, Scholarship America.

The internship opportunities will be provided in partnership with INROADS and CEE Centre For Young Black Professionals. Mentorship and training programs across various fields including Engineering and Business Analytics, R&D, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, etc at Henkel will be provided to students from diverse backgrounds. By the end of the year, Henkel plans to build educational partnership with other organizations to launch additional programs.

The Henkel Diversity Scholarship Program which Henkel has rolled out in association with Scholarship America, is currently accepting applications until March 18, 2021 3.00 pm CT. Applications from all kinds of students are accepted – those studying in high school, higher secondary or are in the final year of CEGEP and wish to enroll in full-time undergrad study. However, one has to be residing in the US, Canada or Puerto Rico, to be eligible for the scholarship program.
