Everyone deserves a shot: CybageKhushboo launches Annual Scholarship Program 2020-21

Education has really taken a hit ever since the COVID pandemic hit us. In India, the problem has exacerbated and is in danger of going out of control as schools still remain shut. To add fuel to the fire, underprivileged and economically weak students are facing the short end of the stick. Access to quality education in these times has diminished to the point where deserving, meritorious students risk losing out due to financial constraints.

CybageKhushboo, the CSR arm of Cybage Software, launched its Annual Scholarship Program for 2020-21 in Pune with the solitary aim of enabling deserving students to enroll for higher education. The initiative was started back in 2009 to provide students from economically weak background the opportunity to continue higher studies and fulfill their aspirations.

CybageKhushboo is the brainchild of Cybage CEO & MD, Arun Nathani and his wife, Ritu Nathani. The NGO-cum-CSR arm of Cybage is solely dedicated towards ensuring equal and quality education to all sections of the society. Since its inception, the organization has involved itself with providing financial aid to economically weak students.

The registrations for the current scholarship program will be open till October 25, 2021. The program will also cover students taking vocational courses like Engineering, Medicine and related fields, Architecture, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Homeopathy, BCA, BCS, BBA MCA, MSc, and Hotel Management. As a rule, CybageKhushboo also renews scholarships of previous beneficiaries annually.

Like all scholarships, CybageKhushboo’s program also has certain prerequisites to be eligible for the scholarship. All applicants must have met the following criteria –

  • The applicants must fulfill the following criteria to avail the Scholarship:
  • Minimum score of 60% in Class X and Class XII exams in the valid academic year or final diploma examination
  • The total family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 3 lakhs per annum.
  • The applicant must have secured admission in a government or a private college based on merit and not through capitation or donation.

India’s total enrollment in higher education in 2019-20 was 38.5 million – 19.6 million male and 18.9 female students. At the moment, India’s literacy rate stands at 77.7 per cent.
