CSR activities of Reliance Foundation wins it a Golden Peacock Award

With efficient initiatives of Corporate Social Responsibility, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)won the Golden Peacock Award 2017. The award was particularly for the transformative work done by the CSR arm of the Company – Reliance Foundation (RF).

The CSR activities of Reliance Foundation has touched the lives of over 15 Mn people across India, under the leadership of Smt. Nita M. Ambani, Founder, and Chairman. It has covered more than 13,500 villages and 74 urban locations.

Under the Chairmanship of Justice Dr. Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, the Awards Jury acknowledged RIL. In the last 40 years, the company has achieved measurable progress and significant milestones. With its approach towards social development, the company has been a firm believer in creating societal value via its generous activities for more than two decades.

In sync to the mission, vision, and values of its parent organization, RIL, Reliance foundation is also committed towards the spirit of enlarging societal value for all. By pioneering a holistic model for addressing the development challenges faced by the country, the company has a vision to build comprehensive India and contributing to the mutual aspirations.

Improving the lives of people, the company is dedicated towards the most marginalized and vulnerable communities. CSR activities of the Reliance Foundation are directed by three core commitments – Scale, Impact, and Sustainability. These philanthropic initiatives concentrate on several social challenges. They are targeted towards providing a better quality of life, for a stronger and inclusive India.

The Jury of Golden Peacock Awards 2017 recognized the social projects of the company which emphasizes at impacting the livelihoods of farmers via water and food security interventions. The company has been implementing a programme called Bharat-India Jodo (BIJ). It closely works with small and marginal farmers to enhance their lives and making agriculture a first choice profession.

The programme has multi-faceted interventions that are interlinked with one another. It has a 360 degree approach aimed at land development, water security measures, food and nutrition security, and creating market linkages for better price realization.

Owing to the distinction on RIL for its efforts towards positive societal transformation, the eminent jury of the Golden Peacock Awards 2017 recognized the efforts towards the CSR activities of the Reliance Foundation.
