Colour me bright: Archroma awarded Platinum rating by EcoVadis for CSR initiatives

Building on the momentum of last year’s performance, textile chemicals specialist, Archroma, has won the ‘Platinum’ rating from EcoVadis. The rating was presented to the company for its outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work.

EcoVadis, an organization dedicated to assessing the performance of companies based on CSR parameters, made the decision to award the Swiss company with a Platinum rating after a thorough evaluation. The assessment focused on 21 criteria grouped under four main themes – Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

The Platinum rating places the company amongst the top one percent of the best in the particular industry. This comes on the back of Archroma receiving the Gold rating from EcoVadis last year. The award had pushed the company into the top five percent of the best-rated companies in the industry. Since then, it had set itself the target of receiving the Platinum rating and breaking into the top one-percenters.

This year marks the fourth consecutive year of Archroma taking part in the assessment by EcoVadis. Participating in such assessments allows a company to measure itself against other companies and industry standards. It also provides valuable insight into what the organization is doing right and the areas it needs to improve in. The event also helps companies put themselves out there as leaders in sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices.

Heike van de Kerkhof, CEO, Archroma, was ecstatic with the rating, saying, “We started our journey with the EcoVadis assessments only four years ago. Our progress all the way to the Platinum rating is testament to our continuous efforts and hard work to improve our societal, environmental, and economic performance, and that of our customers.”

Based out of Reinach, Switzerland, Archroma specializes in manufacturing specialty chemicals used in the performance textiles industry. The company’s operations are founded on the three pillars of The Archroma Way: Safe, Efficient, and Enhanced.
