Bureau Veritas partners with TWAA for BV Women in Africa Mentorship Programme

A new initiative is all set to help women bridge the gender-gap in digital arena as well as support women empowerment

Bureau Veritas has collaborated with TWAA to launch a BV Women in Africa Mentorship Programme. This mentorship platform is aimed at empowering women at workplace across the continent. This programme also aims to bridge the gender gap in the digital arena and support the vision of creating gender equality in the social, cultural and economic sectors of Africa.

Women will be equipped with digital tools and a platform that will connect the users to qualified mentors. This will, in turn, facilitate the growth of a women-based community and increase access to opportunities for participants. The founder of TWAA, Irene Kiwia, explains the aims of the partnership and the launch of this programme.

“This platform was built to help organizations with a strong women empowerment agenda such as Bureau Veritas accomplish their goals by providing a platform to engage, connect, mobilize and impact their women communities through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and access to opportunities. TWAA provides a safe and private space with relevant digital tools for women to thrive and aims to bridge the gender digital divide which can be ramped up if organizations globally become the drivers of the platform.”

With the help of digital platform, this programme is expected to reach women across Africa, including the remote areas. In addition to this, the programme will be able to upskill, connect and engage women in the IT businesses which will result in significant overall empowerment.

The programme will be digitally available to women in multiple languages. Currently, it is available in three languages, i.e., French, English and Swahili. However, in the near future, as the initiative progresses, the authorities have decided to expand the language set to Yoruba, isiZulu, Arabic and Portuguese.
