Professionals hailing from Bihar and Jharkhand working in proximity with NGOs and CSR across many parts of the country and beyond, have associated and announced a think-tank – BIJ Community for the sustainable development of Bihar and Jharkhand. The think-tank is set to be launched at the maiden edition of Bihar & Jharkhand-BIJ CSR Conclave 2020 on September 30, 2020. This Conclave 2020 is an initiative by the DNR Foundation which is backed by India CSR, and it would be organized the first time for these two states.
The Conclave 2020 is expected to have a presence of more than 200 development and business professionals who will be brainstorming on different ways to align Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions for the overall development of these two Indian states. It will highlight the initiatives undertaken by corporate CSR and NGOs leaders for Bihar & Jharkhand.
The BIJ Community will be aiming to develop a robust CSR and NGO ecosystem among the states and will be a great and common platform for businesses and development professionals.
According to Abhishek Ranjan, the Co-convenor of the think-tank the major focus of the BIJ Community would be towards providing a comprehensive discourse on sustainable socio-economic development of Bihar and Jharkhand through different initiatives.
Speaking at this occasion, he said, “The idea is to create a single window support system for CSR and NGOs to mobilize resources needed for various development activities in the two states. The forum will also act as an advisory group for Government, Civil Society and Business for assessment, better utilization of resources and monitoring, etc.”
Several renowned industry players namely Bihar Industries Association, and Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries have joined hands to encourage the BIJ CSR Conclave 2020. UNICEF, UN Global Compact Network and Rotary International have also collaborated with BIJ CSR Conclave 2020 as knowledge partners.
