Aurobindo Pharma Limited spends Rs. 48.60 crore on CSR Activities

Serving humanity through its CSR initiatives like building cancer hospital for free treatment for the poor, Green Belt Initiatives for protecting the trees and animal welfare for supporting Gau Shalas

Out of the total amount of Rs. 98.92 crore available for CSR activities, an amount of Rs. 59.06 crore has been approved during the Financial Year 2019-20 for various CSR activities by Aurobindo Pharma Foundation, a pharmaceutical manufacturing company headquartered in Hyderabad. According to the latest updates, the foundation has spent a total amount of Rs. 48 crore on various CSR activities during FY20.

The Foundation focuses on the following issues:

  • Safe Drinking Water
  • Ecological Balance
  • Environment Stability
  • Conservation of Natural Resources
  • Old Age Homes
  • Rural Sports

The company also promotes the following causes:

  • Promoting Education
  • Eradicating malnutrition and poverty
  • Promoting Preventive Health Care

Aurobindo Pharma has been implementing CSR initiatives ever since its inception. It has been successful in doing so through its foundation which initiates various activities for sustainable development of communities around the areas of operations across the country. One of its ongoing initiatives is constructing a cancer hospital for MNJ institute of Oncology and Regional Cancer Centre, Hyderabad. After the project’s completion, the hospital will be open for free cancer treatments for the poor. It is said to benefit over 2.5 Lakh cancer patients.

Green Belt development by the Foundation, planted 55,600 plants while also building 50,000 plastic tree guards in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. They also support Gou Shaalas to protect the cows in Telangana.

The company also supported government initiatives such as Telangana State Disaster Management Authority and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Relief Fund including the Prime Minister Cares Fund to strengthen India’s fight against pandemic. Aurobindo Pharma Foundation has been proactive in serving the needy and supporting the nation even in these tough times.
