Bike rally ‘Outride Hunger 2016’ organized to spread awareness about classroom hunger

Indian NGO, Akshaya Patra recently organized a bike rally ‘Outride Hunger 2016’ to spread awareness about the need to eliminate classroom hunger. The event was held in Bengaluru on 7th February 2016. Dr. M.A. Saleem, the Additional Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, flagged off the rally from Akshaya Patra’s HK Hill kitchen in Rajaji Nagar. It was graced by the presence of various eminent personalities like Mr. R. Chakravarthy, the veteran biker and Krishna Ajai Rao, the popular Sandalwood actor. Mr Rao even joined the bikers covering a short distance to show his support for the noble cause.

The rally garnered immense support with over 300 bikers who covered various areas making their way through Malleswaram, Race Course Road, and Lalbagh Road, all the way to Akshaya Patra’s Vasanthapura kitchen at Kanakpura Road. The convoy of bikers promoted the noble cause of the Akshaya Patra Foundation catching the eyes and attention of the passers-by all along the 24 km route.

The event evoked a huge response and participation from a great number of individual bikers as well as bikers from renowned biking clubs like the Royal Indians – Enfield Owners Club (RIEOC), Highwaymen, Free Spirits Motorcycle Club, Bajaj Avenger Club – Bengaluru, Biking Buddies, Bikers of India, etc. They participated in the rally with great passion and enthusiasm to ride for promoting a noble cause.  They were addressed by various dignitaries like Sridham Krishna Dasa of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Dr. M.A. Saleem, Krishna Ajai Rao and Mr. R. Chakravarthy with their kind words which served as a great driving and encouraging force for the bikers.
