The commencement of august is harbinger of a special day. Every first Sunday of August gives people an opportunity to celebrate the bond they share with their friends. Friendship day, first celebrated in Paraguay in 1958, is a day where every person makes their dear friends feel special. Warm greetings and gifts is a common sight. Who doesn’t want to have friends? They become a part this journey called life and the good ones always stay by your side. You can speak your heart out to them, share your sentiments, reduce your grief and multiply your joys with them. They do deserve a special treatment on the friendship day.

But there are people who don’t have friends. There are people who have been left out alone to live a not so meaningful life. Their deep sad eyes look for a friend to share the moments with. They don’t long for your money, but all they hope for is a warm company where they could feel their life is worth something. This friendship day, don’t just celebrate with your old friends, but make new ones. Take out 10 minutes from your 24 hour schedule and make friends with someone who would cherish your gesture forever. Don’t care about giving gifts if that bothers you, because your affection will make up for everything. Relief India Trust is going to make lots of new friends this friendship day. We hope you do the same. Remember, it’s not about money but all about intentions. Cheers.
